A grain train, led by a GE C44-9W, comes around the sweeping curve between Lee and Shabbona, Illinois on 10-17-2010. With a "Warbonnet" DPU. Wow, was it ever slow on the BNSF Aurora sub through mid-afternoon. Watching the ATCS monitor at one point, I saw only this train between Savanna and Aurora. Incorporating more of the zoom pullbacks into my videos since I've acquired a used LANC controller (Canon ZR-1000). I really like the five fixed zoom settings that I can quickly set. Instead of having to modulate the zoom on the fly, I can preset a zoom speed on the ZR-1000 and then simply press the zoom control button. The only issue that I have is when running the video camera this way I can't take a still photo using a separate camera. But I can get frame grabs from the video, if I need one, which are usually acceptable.
